Are you a woman entrepreneur with a passion for nutrition and a vision to transform the food system?

The Women in Nutrition-Sensitive Value Chains Accelerator Project is a groundbreaking initiative to be implemented by African Women Agribusiness Network Uganda Ltd (AWAN) with funding from the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). The initiative targets improving nutritional health in Uganda by empowering Women Small and Medium Enterprises (WSMEs) to produce and distribute nutrition-rich products and innovative business models. 

The Women in Nutrition Accelerator is seeking innovative women-led SMEs to join our program and receive:

  • Mentorship: Gain valuable insights from industry experts and seasoned entrepreneurs.
  • Capacity Building: Access tailored capacity-building services such as product development, certification, business modeling, and digitalization
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with a vibrant community of like-minded women leaders.
  • Financial Support: Receive small matching grants to scale your nutrition-focused business.

Eligibility:

  • Women-owned and led SMEs in the nutrition sector.
  • Innovative business models that address nutritional challenges.
  • A strong commitment to social impact and sustainability.
  • Have presence in Teso and West Nile sub-regions
  • Be involved in any of the following value chains (Legumes, cereals esp. fortified maize and millet, small animals and fruits and vegetables)
